Yu Yuphoria is now available at a price of Rs. 6,499 on Amazon, following a Rs. 500 price-cut. The phone was launched in the country in May with a price tag of Rs. 6,999. Another update the smartphone comes with is that of the operating system. The older Android Lollipop-based Cyanogen OS 12 custom ROM has now been replaced with stock Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Micromax subsidiary, YU Televentures, will launch a new smartphone today. The company had recently tweeted “Your prayers shall be answered…”, featuring a graphic poster of a phone with the caption “The God Shall Return”.
The company has had it’s share of the limelight since the launch of the Yureka in December 2014. Now the company is expected to launch a sequel to the Yureka. With the videos released in the past by Yu CEO Rahul Sharma, it is expected that the handset will be better built and sturdier.

Today, Lenovo launched its highly anticipated phablet, the K3 Note, at a launch event held in New Delhi. The company had teased ‘Note the Date’ clearly indicating that they had plans on releasing the K3 Note that was launched in China earlier this year.

Cyanogen has started pushing its exclusive Cyanogen OS 12 update based on Android Lollipop to Yureka devices. The India-based smartphone firm revealed that the L update is a major design overhaul. Along with better touch and design of the UI, enhanced animation is said to add more depth to the interface. The update lets users personalize application notifications, which are now better integrated with the lock screen.

Since YU threw the decision ball to name its next device in the consumers’ court, the company generated a lot of fanfare across social media platforms. Over 1,00,000 entries made it to the first crowd-sourcing campaign #YUNameIt and out of those, one entry has been chosen as the moniker of the second YU smartphone. Recognized till date as Project Caesar, the phone will now be known as “Yuphoria”.
According to YU, “Yuphoria represents zeal, enthusiasm and passion which reflects what YU is committed to bringing to the consumers through innovating and reinventing technology.”
Earlier we confirmed that Micromax Yu’s next smartphone, codenamed Project Caesar, will launch in April. Now, we’ve uncovered an important pricing detail about the Yureka successor. We have learnt that the next Yu device might not be as cheap as Yureka and will most likely cost higher than Yu’s present offering. The Yu Yureka smartphone will soon be getting the Android Lollipop 5.0 update, as the company has posted a Lollipop teaser on its Facebook page. This could only indicate that the devices will be receiving the update in the next few days. YU Yureka, makes for one of the best smartphone picks in the sub-Rs. 10,000 price bracket.
