The upcoming smartphone from the company, the Redmi Y3 is expected to carry over a lot of features from its sibling, the Redmi Note 7. As previous versions of the selfie-centric series have featured a metal construction, the Redmi Y3 may also have a similar build. A 6.3-inch display with an FHD+ resolution is expected. Like its siblings, the device may have a waterdrop notch to maximise the screen to body ratio. For biometrics and security, the Redmi Y3 will have a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor with support for face unlock technology.
Reportedly, the upcoming Redmi Y3 will run on the 14nm based Snapdragon 660 SoC. The chipset has an Octa-core CPU and Adreno 512 GPU. In terms of optics, the smartphone will have a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 12MP and a 2MP depth sensor. The tweet by the senior Xiaomi executive reveals the device will have a 32MP selfie camera. In terms of memory and storage, the handset may be available in the following variants.
- 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM
- 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM
