More Details About OnePlus TV Revealed Via Bluetooth SIG
Chinese smartphone maker, OnePlus has been long rumoured to enter the Smart TV market. Reports in the past have suggested that the upcoming TV will be unveiled in the end of this year or early next year. As of now, there are no details about the features or specifications of the device. However, a freshly granted Bluetooth SIG certification asserts that one such device is surely in the works.
The certification clearly mentions the company name “OnePlus” and the device type as “Remote Control”. Therefore, it is assumed that the upcoming smart TV from OnePlus will be operated via a Bluetooth enabled remote control which will provide for a reliable connection in comparison to a TV with IR (infrared) sensor.
One piece of information about the OnePlus TV was previously revealed by an unofficial source which claimed that the company will equip the device with LCD panels rather than OLED panels. This insinuates that the company wants to target the mass market with its upcoming product and not only the premium segment.
Not many details about the smart TV from OnePlus are available, therfore, only assumptions and speculations can be made. Accordingly, the OnePlus TV is expected to run on Android TV operating system. This will bring a massive collection of existing application like games and video streaming platforms to the device.
The TV is expected to be priced in the Rs 35,000 to Rs 50,000 bracket and it will compete against the likes of the Mi TV lineup which has seen massive success as of late in India.
