The Redmi Y3 has a modern design with a 6.26 inch display on the front and an attractive Aura Prism themed plastic panel on the rear. The display of the smartphone has an LCD panel with a resolution of 1520 x 720 px and 19:9 aspect ratio. The right side of the smartphone is occupied by the power button and volume rockers while the left side is occupied by the SIM card + dedicated microSD card tray. The bottom of the smartphone accommodates the 3.5 mm audio jack, loudspeaker grille, microphone pinhole and USB Type-C port. 

Chipset, Memory and Storage

The Redmi Y3 features the Snapdragon 632 SoC which is manufactured using 14 nm manufacturing process. The chipset is comprised of Octa-Core Kryo 250 CPU which is clocked at 1.8 GHz and Adreno 506 GPU. The smartphone is offered in two storage variants which include 3 GB RAM + 32 GB ROM and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB ROM. In addition to the inbuilt storage, it also supports memory expansion up to 512 GB via the dedicated memory card slot.

Battery and OS

The Redmi Y3 is powered by a large 4,000 mAh lithium battery which can be charged with 10 watts of maximum power via the bottom mounted micro USB port. The smartphone runs on Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box which is skinned with Xiaomi’s MIUI.

The Redmi Y3 has a 32 MP selfie camera which is housed in the dot notch above the display. It also features a dual rear camera setup which consists of an f/2.2 aperture equipped 12 MP PDAF sensor, 2 MP depth sensor and a Dual LED Flash. The Redmi Y3 can also capture 1080p videos at 60 fps from the rear camera setup and 1080p videos at 30 fps from the front mounted selfie camera. Noteworthy, both the front and rear cameras of the handset also support EIS (Electronic Image Stabilisation) which is a rarity in this segment. 

Connectivity and Other Features

In terms of connectivity, the Redmi Y3 supports dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, bottom mounted 3.5 mm audio jack and micro USB Port. The rear of the smartphone harbours a fingerprint sensor which allows securely and rapidly unlocking it. Besides the fingerprint sensor and on-screen pattern lock, it also supports face unlocking technology.

The Redmi Y3 is available in three colour options which include Prime Black, Bold Red and Elegant Blue. It is offered in two storage variants for which the price is as follows:
