OnePlus To Setup R&D Centre In Hyderabad
India is one of the world’s largest market for smartphones. China-based OnePlus, has seen tremendous growth in the country. In a recent announcement, the company has spread some light on their future roadmap for India. The company has revealed that they will soon set up a massive R&D facility in India. The R&D facility will be located in Hyderabad, which the company claims is one of the most active start-up zones in the country. OnePlus plans to not only develop technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in this facility but also work on India-centric innovations.
Officials also commented that within three years, they plan to grow the Hyderabad facility into their biggest R&D centre globally. OnePlus also said that this facility will play a crucial role in the company’s upcoming products. They also intend to achieve long-term growth in India. Furthermore, the company adds that to boost growth, they also wish to embrace the Make In India strategy.

According to OnePlus, the facility will also contribute to nurturing and providing opportunities to talented engineers from the country. Additionally, the company wishes to increase their offline presence in the region as well. Lastly, the company officials said that India is an important market that has seen more than 100% growth over the past few years. The company has already started manufacturing PCBs locally and will continue to manufacture more components in the future.
