Xiaomi Announces Android Pie Update Schedule
Xiaomi has become one of the biggest smartphone companies not only due to good hardware but also because of the long-term software support they offer. Except for the Android One devices they are usually one of the first companies to push the latest Android updates to their smartphones.
Android vs iOS adoption
Android definitely trumps iPhone in terms of device shipments but it is nowhere near Apple’s iOS adoption rate. The latest iOS 12 already runs on more than 50% of the supported devices whereas the latest Android 9.o Pie merely runs on 0.1% of Android devices.
Talking about Android adoption rate, Android Nougat has the highest market share at 29.3%. Followed by Marshmallow at 21.6% while Android Oreo is at number three with 19.2 % share.
