The scientists, from Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, have developed the nuclear magnetic resonance scanner which uses antibodies and magnetic particles to identify cancerous cells. The device costs only 10,000 Rupees / 200$ and is the size of a blood sugar monitor. You need to insert a needle full of sample tissue, for the device to start processing the cells for cancer. And at the end you need – an – iPod / iPad / iPhone to read the results thanks to an already avaialable application.

Recent rumors that the Apple iPhone 4 will be launched with BSNL, seem to be coming true. Sources close to us, have notified us that the Apple iPhone 4 for India will be launched very – very soon. Will be available unlocked through the Reliance – Apple – iStores and through other resellers. Price point is set at 40k for 16 and 45k for 32 gigs. Hopefully India gets the white version instantly!

Looks like as per the rumors the new MacBooks are slated for today and the possible refresh is happening as we speak.
As per rumors the new MacBook pro 13 inchers are getting the core 13-15 treatment, with basic upgrades in the 15 inch and 17 inch versions, there is also a possibility of the new sandy bridge processors to be added to the devices.

Scientists at the University of Massachusetts Lowell have managed to squeeze over a thousand processor cores onto a single chip. We’ve heard a lot about the potential for future desktop-sized supercomputers, but more than anything else this research proves that in the not-too-distant future it’s likely to be a reality. Interestingly enough, there’s also a green angle to this idea: FPGA chips can be more power efficient than their competitors, and if less computer time is needed to process complex tasks, then the overall power consumption of computers using the tech could be impressively low.

Biopsies are used to detect cancer cells in body tissue or matter, and usually involve an invasive and painful method. A new technique developed by a professor at the University of Rochester will take high-resolution 3D images under the skin’s surface, potentially eliminating the need for biopsies in cancer detection. Professor Jannick Rolland created a prototype that uses a liquid lens, in which a droplet of water replaces the standard glass lens, in conjunction with near-infrared light, to take thousands of pictures at varying depths.
