Karbonn A7 Review

Karbonn A7 Review igyaan 18

Build Quality and Design

The A7 sports a very sophisticated and attractive design. It is well built and there is no rattling noise while shaking it. The back has a matte finish which prevents finger prints. One thing we did like was the device being lightweight and easy to operate with one hand.

Hardware

The A7 features a 800MHz processor with 512 MB RAM (running Gingerbread) and 200MHz GPU which is very impressive for a device in this price range. It also packs a fixed-focus 5MP camera with dual-LED flash which is pretty decent, though there is a slight blurriness in the images. A surprise addition is the front-facing VGA camera.

The phone sports a 3.5 inch capacitive touchscreen which has a resolution of 320×480 pixels, which to be honest could have been better. It is powered by a 1420 mAh battery.  Memory is expandable upto 32 GB.

Display, Camera and Multimedia

The display on the A7 is decent, though it has a very prominent tint of blue in it. Due to the big size of the screen, web browsing and reading texts is impressive. The browser is fast and efficient.

The Audio on the device is very loud and crisp and we had no problem with the phone in this department. The image quality of the camera is also decent, with the dual-LED flash helping in low lighting shots.

Basic apps like Temple Run, Angry Birds etc run smoothly on the phones, mainly due to it’s processor, which gave a benchmark score of 1230.

Phone Calls and Messaging

The device features dual sim capabilities, with one 3G sim and another 2G sim slot. The call quality was impressive with no real issues.

Messaging on this phone is a breeze, the keyboard is responsive and mistyping was not an issue. Texting is fast and efficient and doesn’t take a lot of time to get used to.

Conclusion

The A7 is a power packed phone and one of the best in this price range. Though we could have done with a better resolution screen and a better camera, but its other features more than make up for it. It is a good option for people who have two numbers and want an Android smartphone which can house both, and offer great features along with that.
