Apple iMac, Mac Mini now available in India staring at Rs.85,900 and Rs.39,900 respectively
Announced back in October this year along with the iPad Mini, the Apple iMac and Mac Mini have now made their way to the stores in India. The 21.5-inch iMac starts at Rs.85,900 whereas the Mac Mini range starts at Rs.39,900.
The new, 7th generation iMac which was announced at the event in October has lost a lot of fat as compared to it’s previous generation. Apple claims that the new iMac is a mind boggling, 80 percent thinner than the sixth generation of iMac. The new iMac also has 40 percent reduced volume than the sixth generation iMac which it owns to it’s glass and aluminum casing.
The base model of the new 21.5-inch iMac comes with a 2.7GHz third generation Intel Core i5 processor along with 8GB of RAM. The new iMac features the latest generation of Nvidia GeForce GT 640M graphics processor which Apple claims, will give around 60 percent faster performance. As far as storage is concerned, Apple has integrated a “Fusion Drive” in the iMac which combines 128GB of Flash drive with 1TB of HDD. Users have an option of opting for the optical disk drives as well, if they need it.
The 21.5-inch iMac is also available in a 2.9GHz third generation Intel Core i5 processor configuration which also features an Nvidia GeForce GT 650M graphics processor and is prices at Rs.99,900.
The newly launched Mac Mini is also available in two configurations, with the third generation dual-core Intel Core i5 or quad-core Intel Core i7 processors which according to Apple are twice as fast and have 65 percent faster integrated graphics and comes with 4GB of 1600MHz DDR3 RAM which can be configured to 8GB or 16GB.
It also comes with Wi-Fi, integrated speakers, Bluetooth 4.0 and a wide selection of ports which include 4 USB 3.0 ports, Thunderbolt port, FireWire 800 port, HDMI port, SDXC card slot, Gigabit Ethernet port an an Audio in/out. The Mac Mini from Apple comes in three versions which are priced in between Rs.39,900 to Rs.69,900.
