BSNL Launches Video Calling Through Landline Phones
BSNL is all set for turning Public Call Offices (PCO) into Video Call Offices (VCO). BSNL is encouraging candidates willing to be franchisers of this new service with a commission of 30 %. BSNL is going to charge Rs. 3 per 45 seconds of video call in general. The franchisers have the freedom to charge up to Rs. 10 per call based on the market standards in their locality. But a candidate must pay Rs. 25000 in order to have a franchise of the video call service.
Each and every call made from a VCO will be considered as a video call and thus will be charged accordingly. But there is no service for making ISD video calls from a VCO which may be considered as one of the major drawback of this service now.
An official also said that VCOs having medical devices attached to it for remote diagnosis of a patient will also be made available. Many other services will be launched shortly for which prices will differ.
