New Delhi, 1 September 2011: Tata Teleservices Limited, India’s fastest-growing pan-India telecom service provider, today created history of sorts by unveiling ‘Tata Photon on Rev.B’, the latest addition to its best-selling Photon family of high-speed mobile broadband access products on the CDMA platform. The move is a logical next step for TTL, whose market leading products and solutions have seen it emerge as the undisputed leader in the broadband access and Enterprise segments. At the time of launch itself, Tata Photon on Rev.B will be available in 27 major metros and cities across the country, with the rest of the country to be mapped soon thereafter.

“We have been the clear market leaders in the mobile broadband access space for more than a while now, and the launch of Tata Photon on Rev.B is the next step in carrying that legacy forward. Tata Photon on Rev.B will provide our customers with unfettered mobile broadband access and enable them to experience super-fast speeds on their laptops, PCs and other devices. Today’s increasing demand for powerful and faster networks continues to inspire us to continually upgrade our network and maintain our technological leadership—by consistently being amongst the first to introduce game-changing products and services. Tata Photon on Rev.B underlines the superiority of mobile broadband technology and is set to become a rage amongst Internet-users everywhere,” Mr Deepak Gulati, Executive President, Mobility Business, Tata Teleservices Limited, said.

TTL’s Next-Gen Rev.B network is capable of scaling up to speeds of 14.7 Mbps across the country.

The Rev.B solution will enable TTL to improve capacities, throughput and latency on its existing network, translating into super-quick and consistent speeds for all Internet needs of its consumers, right from e-mailing, social networking, sharing of photographs, downloading and uploading heavy files, music downloads, video streaming and watching live TV on-the-go. The launch of TTL’s Rev.B network marks the entry of a world-best CDMA platform in India, providing users with a never-before browsing experience, the benefits of Free National Roaming and Seamless In-building Coverage.

Over the last few years, Tata Teleservices Limited has enjoyed a leadership position in the wireless broadband internet, on the back of superior technologies and products, strong OEM alliances and a widespread channel presence. The Tata Photon product portfolio has maintained its leadership position in the market with exciting customer propositions, customer-friendly tariff options and an exclusive customer care wing for data services. The latest launch will help further strengthen TTL’s presence in this space, especially since a dedicated data carrier will ensure that customers with Tata Photon on Rev.B have an unparalleled and unfettered user experience.

“We take immense pride in announcing the forthcoming launch of Tata Photon on Rev.B. With this launch, TTL is further enhancing its end-to-end range of telecom services and bolstering our standing as a key player in the individual and enterprise segments in the access space,” Mr Sunil Tandon, Head, Non-Voice Services at Tata Teleservices Limited, said. “The introduction of the Rev.B solution and products like Tata Photon on Rev.B will enhance TTL’s carrying capacity to lead in a market that is witnessing an explosion in demand for data services, as also provide a stable and reliable high-speed mobile broadband experience to our subscribers,” he added.

The Tata Photon on Rev.B solution is in the final phase of testing, and the product will be commercially available in the market in the second fortnight of September.
