Can you also give a review with comparision of samsung galaxy s and iphone 4. That will really be helpful for a lot of people here in india. By the time iphone hits the Indian market Galaxy S will have Android 2.2 froyo on it. It will be really interesting to see their comparision. Please help us make an informed choice.

    Amazing review buddy…
    keep it up..
But the thing about the ETF in USA. doesn’it reqiure to give the iphone4 back to AT&T?

  • ankur1409

arre bhaaiii koi bta sakta hai ki iphone 4 india mein lekar aau to gsm airtel ke micro sim par chalega

  • http://vinayaks.com Vinayak Gupta

Also, remember you’re on a contract and its like 50$-100$ monthly rental for 2 years. So the total cost for keeping an iphone is usually over 1500$ in US.

  • http://vinayaks.com Vinayak Gupta

You get AT&T (just like Airtel in India, you have AT&T in US) locked iphone with a 2 year contract for 199$ which means it would run only with an AT&T simcard in US. (Now jailbreaking and unlocking is a different story).

For the rest of the world, there is an officially unlocked version (without contract) of iphone available for around INR 35k. You can get it from UK for 35k.

  • ALKA

what is the difference between iphone 4 with contract and without contact..??

    And which one is cheaper..?

  • ALKA

how to buy iphone 4 in cheap rates from usa..??

  • http://vinayaks.com Vinayak Gupta

It does, after jailbreaking and unlocking.

Although you won’t get it for just 199$ from AT&T. Its on a 2 year contract. In short, its like pay 199$ for the phone, then 325$ ETF, then some taxes and restocking fee and stuff. So in total, it should cost around 560-600$ if you buy from AT&T.

  • ALKA

    hii..

    i want to buy i phone 4 !!

if i buy it(iphone 4 16gb) from usa , which cost $199 in usa, does it work in india..??

    plz reply…

    thnx

i wouldnt expect it anytime soon, not before december atleast.

A vodafone official did tell us OCTOBER 11 , but i dont think they’ll make the deadline. Apple is short on supplies. And India is not a prime market for them.

  • http://vinayaks.com Vinayak Gupta

As per this official press release, Vodafone is likely to launch iPhone 4 in India anytime soon. I think it would be in the months of Sept-Oct.

Airtel too, is on the move. The prices are going to be insane, I am sure.

  • http://vinayaks.com Vinayak Gupta

If its more of an AT&T issue, then I wonder what the bumpers would do.

  • thilak3012

wow!!! when did this come to india

  • vikram

can u pls tel me that when it officially come to india thanx

Reception is not an issue and it seems that it is more of an At&t problem, since, no one in the UK faces this problem. and neither do we. The yellow blotches have disappeared overtime for the people who had them, and was the glue which hadn’t dried up properly. As far as the glass is concerned it is quite solid, and by the look of it a film protector and a silicon case should keep your phone safer than ever. No matter how solid things are they break, and the iPhone 4 feels and is much stronger and well built than the 3g or the 3gs. check out our full review

we have covered the antenna issue with a video http://igyaan.in/2010/07/07/everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-iphone-4-india/

hi from where did you get the phone ?? and for how much ?

  • Shivali

It’s been a huge hit for Apple again , but as always it’s another Apple product launch that is surrounded by some mishups.

Things like reception issues, yellow blotches etc..
Those issues might be solved over time,
but the main thing which is concerning me is the strength of back side glass. Gizmodo even published a post head “Fragile-Beauty” , you might have read that.
What’s your opinion ? Do you really think that this thing is so fragile that it can’t sustain a drop of a foot hight ?

I know people around there a crazy and purposely dropping it. Therefore i am refering to just a normal usage only, saying this because i had mistakenly dropped my “3GS” 2 times and nothing happend to it. But as many tech blog are saying that iPhone 4 is not as durable as Apple says, it got me thinking !

    Thanks for reading.
